The Biss debut album was very well received. But after lead singer Fernando Garcia left the band, Biss seemed to be doomed. With Joker In The Deck the band proves to be more alive than ever. Songs like “Daylight” and “Flying High” are just amazing. The power and strength produced by the rhythm section Barend Courbois (ex-Vengeance) and Jos Zoomer (ex-Vandenberg) clearly shows they know how to give this music balls. Together they produce a very profound base, diverting from heavy metal and even some blues. Lead singer Michael Bormann mysterious and deep vocals in “Flying High” are as convincing as his explosive outbursts. | |
The track “Rebel Without A Cause” sounds exactly as you might expect from the title. The production, vital for this kind of music, is great. The music sounds very warm and intense. There is however one minor point of criticism: the cover which is totally out of date and not consistent with the musical content, which is great. Fans of eighties and early nineties hard rock and metal should give this record a try. It won’t disappoint you! (Geert) |
