After three years of waiting the third album by Finnish hard-rock band Embraze finally sees the light of day. This time the music of Embraze is a bit more aggressive and faster than on the previous two albums. I’m not a big metal fan and I must admit I really like ‘Katharsis’. This is mainly because the great alternating compositions combined with a lot of melodic variation. There are some weaker tracks on Katharsis, but they are completely annulled by songs like ‘My Star’, ‘The Sun Loves The Moon’ and ‘Closed’.

These songs have beautiful keyboard passages and great guitar riffs. The sound of ‘Kartharsis’ is fine although the mix of the rougher parts in the music could have been a little clearer. Nevertheless, this new album is without a doubt a major step into the right direction. Embraze is a band we will hear about in the future. Geert
