After three years of waiting the third album by Finnish hard-rock band Embraze finally sees the light of day. This time the music of Embraze is a bit more aggressive and faster than on the previous two albums. I’m not a big metal fan and I must admit I really like ‘Katharsis’. This is mainly because the great alternating compositions combined with a lot of melodic variation.
There are some weaker tracks on Katharsis, but they are completely annulled by songs like ‘My Star’, ‘The Sun Loves The Moon’ and ‘Closed’. | |
These songs have beautiful keyboard passages and great guitar riffs. The sound of ‘Kartharsis’ is fine although the mix of the rougher parts in the music could have been a little clearer. Nevertheless, this new album is without a doubt a major step into the right direction. Embraze is a band we will hear about in the future.
