The first time I listened to Filth Catalyst I didn’t like it that much. I found the album a bit noisy and not really interesting. The songs didn’t do much for me, I found the guitar parts not very interesting and the vocals not convincing. My first thought was that this was just the next speed-breaking band. But since I’ve listened to the album a little more, I started to appreciate it more and more. Maybe it’s an album that has to grow on you. The rating I give for this release represents my current opinion; maybe I have to reconsider it in a few months. Filth Catalyst is the successor of their debut album Hell Injection. Much has changed in the two years between Hell Injection and Filth Catalyst. For one, the band has a solid line up now, including D.Deviant (guitar & death vocals), 666Torturer (bass & black vocals), Toxik.

H (guitar) and A.ZK6 (drums). They’re much more experienced now, thanks to their European tour. According to 666Torturer both aforementioned albums sound very different, but belong together. They are the two different parts of the evil Arkhon Infaustus. The music of Arkhon Infaustus is a mix of extreme death and black metal and is mostly played up-tempo, although they also have some calmer parts. The eight songs are recorded quite well, which is very important for extreme music like this. The word extreme is important for Arkhon Infaustus, because their music, the lyrics as well as their image are extreme. So if you don’t have a problem with fast and brutal death/ black metal you should definitely give this evil and aggressive band a chance. And arm yourselves, for this album is the catalyst of all evil.
