One of the most sensitive voices in the darkwave/gothic scene is definitely Wolfsheim’s Peter Heppner. Their last album Spectators still spins around in my cd-changer regularly and has proven to be one of the better releases in the genre. Now, almost 4 years after the release of Spectators, Wolfsheim is back with the warm-up single for the next album called Casting Shadows. The song is called “Kein Züruck” and is typical for the way these Germans write their songs. Their catchy background music is perfect for radio airplay and only underlines the status of this band.
The single “Kein Züruck” is released, including a remix and two new songs. | |
One of the new songs is from the forthcoming album. The bonus on this single is the song “Iou”, which will not feature on the album. Unfortunately the promotional copies lack the new songs, but do contain a nice remix of the title track. Nice, but of course not as interesting as the new songs. Fact is that this single is already in the top of the German Alternative Charts, and has so far received a lot of airplay on the German radio stations (even the most commercial stations!). And for a valid reason: the catchy, but oh so fragile voice of Peter Heppner will leave you wanting more after its four minutes of play. Can’t wait for the album!
