Some collection of veterans, these Barrelhouse Brothers. Starting off with Noel Jones and Jeff Ward (White Lightning), joining forces with Noel Redding (Hendrix), John Coghlan (Status Quo), Eric Bell (Thin Lizzy) and many others, to record some blues sessions. Many blues legends are given an interpretation by Ward and his clan.
Do not expect sleazy rockin’ blues with a bite. | |
This one is a real classic based bluesy blues album. Sometimes even reminding a bit of big band or Dixieland music. Maybe due to the age these old rockers do not sparkle that much anymore, since the recordings are pretty slick and mellow. Despite the lack of energy, this album will do very well with a pint, and the right company, in a smoky pub.
