Dimension F3H used to be a non-metal solo project of Limbonic Art’s Morfeus, but after Limbonic Art decided to call it a day he chose to form a band around himself. But once a metalhead, always a metalhead and slowly metallic influences began to pour into the tracks he wrote. He succeeded in finding two very capable comrades, Stian Thunderforce on drums and Nesmoth on vocals.

Together they crafted “Reaping The World Winds” and what an album it is! I can not even begin to describe the style of music, but as a reviewer I have to try, no matter how inaccurate it may be. Here it goes: If you take equal parts of Arcturus, Covenant/The Kovenant and mix this with minor parts of Limbonic Art (of course), you’ll get a starting point. Even touches of King Diamond (in the track “3rd generation Armageddon”), Arabic (“The Dawn”) and Asian (“Paint Me Something Bleach”) influences can be heard.

With such a diverse musical environment it is crucial to have capable musicians to prevent all the influences of becoming just a pile of fragmented sounds. Dimension F3H prove themselves worthy of this task, just listen to “Mirrorheart”; a track that begins with a choir and Limbonesque drumming.

On top of that the transformed voice of Nesmoth which changes in a dark chanting singing style. Also to be heard are women voices resulting in a Hollenthon-alike experience.

Singer Nesmoth is an important factor of the sound of Dimension F3H; he has an amazingly fluent singing style and utilizes his voice in many ways (no screams or grunts though). Sometimes his voice is transformed by computer and often he has many parts sung in multiple times, resulting in duets with himself. The last track, the instrumental “Reborn” is IMHO a little bit over the top. It features more than 5 minutes of standard electronic tunes which are an unworthy epilogue to a strong album.

In essence this album is a perfect combination between electro and (melodic) metal and if you like bands like the aforementioned Arcturus, The Kovenant and even Star One you should check it out. If you’re looking for the follow up to Limbonic Art, look elsewhere.
