Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week (December 1-7). This is Lowry’s third time winning the award in his career. He won the award last season and as a member of the Houston Rockets in 2011. He is the second member of the Raptors to win the award this season, joining Lou Williams (November 17-23). This is the third time in team history that multiple players have been named Player of the Week in the same season and the first since Chris Bosh and Mike James won in 2005-06. Lowry scored a career-high 39 points against the Utah Jazz and led the league in scoring last week with 29.3 points per game. He shot .492% from the field. Along with leading the team to a 2-1 record, Lowry earned his team-leading fourth double-double in the win against the Sacramento Kings. This season, Lowry is averaging a league-leading 26.3 points on the road and is second with a 6.44 assist-to-turnover ratio.
